Josh Blakesley Band To Make ‘Best Album Yet’
On May 29, 2014 the Josh Blakesley Band completed a successful fundraising campaign on the crowdfunding site KickStarter to produce a new studio album. The campaign raised $36,385, exceeding the goal of $35,000, which means that the band can now move forward with its plans of making another self-produced studio album. And this album, the band contends, will be their ‘best album yet’. 182 backers pledged support, including the Catholic Playlist Show. The Catholic Playlist Show also supported Fr Pontifex’s album ‘Symphony and the Static’ back in 2013. We can’t wait to hear their new music and premiere it on the show when it is released later in 2014.

New Featured Artist: Alverlis
This week on the Catholic Playlist show we are featuring a new single from Alverlis. Alverlis Pena is a Catholic worship leader and songwriter born and raised in New York City. She picked up a guitar after she had a personal encounter with the Lord in her teenage years and has not stopped making music ever since.

New Single from Connor Flanagan
Yesterday marked the release of a new single titled “Ablaze” from Connor Flanagan. While most songs are released mid-week, the choice of Pentecost Sunday for the release of “Ablaze” was the proper time to share its message with the world. And this upbeat tune will have your foot tapping from the beginning!

Catholic Playlist now on Universe Catholic Radio
A new online streaming radio station, Universe Catholic Radio, launches June 1st and the Catholic Playlist show is in the program schedule.
According to their website, universecatholicradio.com, Universe Catholic Radio (UCR) is the online radio station of the Catholic Universe newspaper, the leading voice of Catholic news and opinion in the UK and Ireland since 1860. Broadcasting 24/7 worldwide into a community of more than one billion Catholics, Universe Catholic Radio (UCR) delivers a unique mix of music, features, talk shows and spiritual inspiration, reflecting the teachings of the Catholic Church, and its place in the modern world.
When the new station officially launches on Sunday, June 1st the Catholic Playlist show will be airing each day at 9am UK time.
