New Release: Josh Blakesley Band

Be sure to check out the next Catholic Playlist show coming out this Friday, Nov 21 for the debut of Josh Blakesley Band’s new single “Grateful” from their soon to be released album! We got our hands on it a little early because we backed their Kickstarter project and we can’t wait to share it with you.

According to the band, “Grateful” will be released to the rest of the world on iTunes on Tuesday Nov 18 so you can pick it up then if you like. The artwork, pictures, and full album details are all still in the works, so we don’t have any other news to share yet – but we do know that the video for “Grateful” includes some amazing footage from submissions provided by listeners and fans.

Thanks for checking out this latest Catholic Playlist, where we pick the best and the newest contemporary Christian music – music exclusively from Catholic artists – for your listening enjoyment. Who will you discover in today’s show?

Our playlist lineup this week includes music from Chris Bray, Katy Blythe, Out of Darkness, Sarah Hart and Steve Angrisano. Our new featured artist this week is Emily Wilson, and we’re going to start off the show with a set of songs from the performers at this weekend’s Abbey Faith and Music Festival at Daylesford Abbey in Pennsylvania. So if you weren’t able to go or you live too far away, you’ll get a taste of the concert with the first 4 songs in a row from those performing this weekend. #51 – Catholic Playlist Show

Thank you so much for joining us for another edition of the Catholic Playlist. Once again we find and play the best and some of the very newest contemporary Christian music, but from Catholic artists only. So this is music you won’t hear on your mainstream Christian music radio station. But we’re trying to change all that, and in that quest this playlist has a stellar lineup performers, starting with new song selections from Cooper Ray and Lee Roessler. Other performers include New Name, Katy Blythe, Josh Blakesley, Audrey Assad, and Chris Bray to name a few.

Our featured new artist this week is The Project, a musical duo that explores the martyrs, those who, through the centuries, gave their very lives for their faith, their freedoms, their communities and their friends. It’s a real musical treat that you won’t want to miss.

Josh Blakesley Band To Make ‘Best Album Yet’

On May 29, 2014 the Josh Blakesley Band completed a successful fundraising campaign on the crowdfunding site KickStarter to produce a new studio album. The campaign raised $36,385, exceeding the goal of $35,000, which means that the band can now move forward with its plans of making another self-produced studio album. And this album, the band contends, will be their ‘best album yet’. 182 backers pledged support, including the Catholic Playlist Show. The Catholic Playlist Show also supported Fr Pontifex’s album ‘Symphony and the Static’ back in 2013. We can’t wait to hear their new music and premiere it on the show when it is released later in 2014.
