#62 Catholic Playlist Show

Sharing the joy of the Gospel by playing the best and some of the very newest contemporary Christian music exclusively from Catholic artists is what the Catholic Playlist is all about.

Catholic Playlist #62 features music from artists like Delmore, Chris Bray, Sam Rocha, Sarah Kroger, Kara Klein, Benedictio and others. We’ve got new music from Lee Roessler, and our new featured artist this week is Matt Faley, who just released his debut EP titled “The Only Light”. That debut will lead off the second segment of the show.

We want to welcome to the show the listeners of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Radio, KOUR-LP, serving Coralville, Iowa City, and North Liberty at 92.7 FM located on the campus of the University of Iowa! Sharing the joy of the gospel through music, that’s what the Catholic Playlist show is about. As always we have a great show in store for you, with music from Luke Spehar, who we featured 2 weeks ago, Sarah Kroger, Emily Wilson, Kara Klein, Jaime Thietten, Delmore and others, like PJ Anderson who released his new album “Rise” on Oct 7. It debuted at #11 on iTunes and we congratulate PJ on his success and play “Come Alive” from “Rise” to start the show.

#55 – Catholic Playlist Show

Thanks for checking out this latest Catholic Playlist, where we pick the best and the newest contemporary Christian music – music exclusively from Catholic artists – for your listening enjoyment. Who will you discover in today’s show?

Our playlist lineup this week includes music from Chris Bray, Katy Blythe, Out of Darkness, Sarah Hart and Steve Angrisano. Our new featured artist this week is Emily Wilson, and we’re going to start off the show with a set of songs from the performers at this weekend’s Abbey Faith and Music Festival at Daylesford Abbey in Pennsylvania. So if you weren’t able to go or you live too far away, you’ll get a taste of the concert with the first 4 songs in a row from those performing this weekend. Up first is Kara Klein, then Greg&Lizzy, followed by Audrey Assad and then wrapping up with Matt Maher.

#53 – Catholic Playlist Show

Welcome to the Catholic Playlist show, where we bring you the joy of the Gospel through music – by finding and playing the best and some of the very newest contemporary Christian music from Catholic artists. We have a lot of great music in store for you today – the playlist lineup includes music from Jaime Thietten, Andrea Thomas, Marie Miller, Tori Harris, Greg Andrews, Connor Flanagan and a few others. And if you are a fan of soul and jazz, you’re going to really enjoy our featured new artist this week, Sam Rocha.

Sam’s debut album, titled “Late to Love”, is an original concept album that performs a reading of Augustine’s Confessions through soul music. It is not a generic ode to a saint or holy person, nor it is a neutral and uncontroversial celebration of an important ancient book. From beginning to end Sam offers a bold and fresh reading of Augustine’s Confessions where the form is the content, where melody and verse take the place of assertions and argument. This music is truly something totally new and original.

Song of the Week – July 21, 2014

Our song for the week of July 21st comes from Kara Klein. Kara is a singer/songwriter, worship leader and inspirational speaker from New Orleans, LA. She has released five original albums, her most recent album titled “Catch Me” came out in August of 2013. It’s filled with deeply personal, moving, yet upbeat and encouraging original songs, and one of our favorites is this week’s Catholic Playlist Song of the Week – “Way Maker” from Kara Klein.
