#98 Catholic Playlist Show

Catholic Playlist #98A week or more ago I was introduced to Rebecca Roubion and her music. She had recently performed for a pilgrimage group in Nashville as they made their way to the EWTN studios in Birmingham, AL. The group was the staff at St Gabriel Catholic Radio, who were celebrating 10 years on the air in Columbus, Ohio. St Gabriel Catholic Radio AM820 broadcasts the Catholic Playlist show, and after an impressive performance from Rebecca, thought we might want to consider adding her music to the Catholic Playlist.

And so Rebecca Roubion joins the playlist this week as we share the joy of the Gospel through the power of contemporary Christian music here on the Catholic Playlist show. This happens to be playlist #98, which means we’re just 2 more playlists away to reach 100! I can tell you with all honesty that I never imagined that we’d reach this milestone. But we’ve been blessed by God to continue this work because He wants you to know about this great music. In addition to Rebecca Roubion’s song “What Love Looks Like”, the playlist has music from Francis Cabildo, Shaun Garrison, NOVUM, Cody Roth, Dee Simone, Jeremy & Ryan, and others, including “Cathedral” from Greg & Lizzy.

New Featured Artist: Taylor Tripodi

Taylor Tripodi

We are pleased to introduce you to Taylor Tripodi, our new featured artist this week in Catholic Playlist #95. Taylor is a student at Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio and has just released her debut EP – Be Glorified. She started out learning how to play the guitar at 8 years old, and then began writing her own music at 11. She likes to think that her life is just one big song…with lots of ups and downs, mistakes, triumphs, joys, sorrows, and crazy experiences…but, she says, “in every moment, I am convinced that God has been ever-present. The Lord has revealed to me in so many ways His unconditional love through all of my failings and beautiful life experiences. THAT is what I love to write about. I love to write about Him. He has always been there for me at every moment, even when I have turned away from Him.”

“He deserves more than any song I could ever write for Him or about Him, but if I can give Him any praise and show people through my music the one who loves them more than anything else and lead them into a deeper relationship w ith Him, than I will have fulfilled all my dreams that I have for my music.”

TripodiAs for why she wrote these songs and made this album, she says “I want the whole world to know Christ and experience His unfailing love. He is so worthy of our praise, and so, may the Lord truly “Be Glorified” in this music, and may all those who listen to these songs draw closer to His Sacred Heart, all for His Glory!”

Please join us in welcoming Taylor to the Catholic Playlist this week. We’ll be playing “Here I Am” from her new EP “Be Glorified”. Learn more about Taylor at her website – www.taylortripodi.com and be sure to add this EP to your own playlist!

Here is the iTunes playlist to add them to your personal collection:

New Featured Artist: Jeremy and Ryan

Jeremy and Ryan

Our new featured artist this week is Jeremy and Ryan, who both hail from Southern California. This duo met in high school playing in the youth choir at their home parish and went on to form a rock band playing secular music. After achieving some success they discovered how empty that scene was and soon returned to their home parish as directors of the youth choir. They began writing their own original Catholic rock songs and once they saw the difference that their music and words made for people and how it helped others grow in their own faith, they knew that this is exactly what God had planned for them.

Arise EP from Jeremy and RyanJeremy and Ryan released an EP titled Arise in February 2015, and we’re pleased to play ‘Your Love Goes On’ from that EP in today’s playlist.
