Episode 2 of Season 3 brings you more great contemporary Christian music from some of your favorite artists. This week it’s Andreas Thomas, Matt Faley, Ike Ndolo, Tori Harris, Katy Blythe and more.
We play a new single from Dave Moore titled “Speak to Me” that we think you’ll like, plus PJ Anderson is headlining the Youth Rally at the Verizon Center for the March for Life this year and we have a song from him in the playlist this week.
Plus our new featured artist is Mathias Michael, who won the first ever “Top Talent” competition at the 2011 National Catholic Youth Conference.
Advent and Christmas Music Highlight Final Shows of 2015
We’ve reached the 4th Sunday of Advent which means that Christmas and the birth of Christ is very near. We wrap up our special Advent and Christmas music series with a great list of songs including some familiar favorites in these final episodes of Catholic Playlist and Catholic Playlist Worship for 2015.
We now move to the Third week of Advent and the anticipation is growing as the time winds down to the birth of our Savior. To help you get ready and into the spirit of this liturgical season, hear more sounds of the Advent and Christmas season in the latest episodes of the Catholic Playlist and Catholic Playlist Worship shows.
More sounds of the Advent and Christmas season are in store for you in the latest episodes of the Catholic Playlist and Catholic Playlist Worship shows. We enter into the Second week of Advent as we continue to prepare ourselves for the coming of the Messiah and we hope this music helps get you encouraged and inspired to make straight the paths to your heart.
For our fans of contemporary music we have many great favorites to listen to in our playlist, including “Emmanuel” by Steve Angrisano, “O Holy Night” by L’Angelus, and “Love Has Come” by Matt Maher. Plus you won’t want to miss brand new songs from Tori Harris and Brian Campbell from the brand new compilation album “Vital Christmas: Dance of Joy”.
For those of you who prefer more traditional music, we think you’ll enjoy this Catholic Playlist Worship playlist containing many of your favorite songs and hymns performed by artists like The Priests, Jackie Evancho, Jon Sarta, The Boys of St Paul’s Choir School and more.
And don’t miss next week’s shows, as we have brand new releases to share from Josh Blakesley, Shawn Williams and more!
Thanks for streaming the show and we share the joy of the Gospel through the power of contemporary Christian music. And not just any music, but some of the best and even the very newest music released today by Catholic artists. Next week the first Sunday of Advent will be upon us and we’re going to be playing only Advent and Christmas music during the season – and there is a lot of great music here too! So don’t miss our Advent music shows throughout the season coming up next week, but until then, we’ve got another great playlist put together with tracks from Kara Klein, Dave Moore, Mikey Needleman, Taylor Tripodi, Fr Kevin McGoldrick, Dante Schmitz and others.
If you’re a fan of country music this next segment of the show is for you! Starting with our new featured artist this week, Wade Talley! We first heard Wade’s music at a Facebook group called Catholic Music Insiders – its a place for Catholic singers and songwriters to share their music, events and activities to help promote their work – and we thought he deserved a spot on the Catholic Playlist.
Wade grew up in Corning, Kansas and where he married his high school sweetheart and now has seven children on this earth and twin girls in heaven. He’s got a great story about his inspiration for writing songs that we’ll look to tell in a future show, but he just released his second album “To Sing Your Song” earlier this month, a follow up to his debut album “A Shot In The Dark”. His songs all center on themes of faith and family and speak of being a husband and a father as well as how to get through hard times. Wade makes his Catholic Playlist debut with “You Can’t Take It With You” in playlist #107. You can learn more about him and his music at www.wadetalleymusic.com
You already know our tag line of “sharing the joy of the Gospel through the power of music”, which means playing the best and some of the very newest contemporary Christian music from Catholic artists only.
But this week we really demonstrate that commitment! For the newest music, we have a song from Andrea Thomas’ brand new album “Will You Go”, a new single from Audrey Assad, another song from Fr Kevin McGoldrick’s album that’s coming out soon, and we’ll play “Coming Home” featuring Tori Harris again. As for the best in music, we have Matt Maher who just won 2 Dove awards, the most prestigious awards in Christian music. One was for Songwriter of the Year and the other for Worship Song of the Year, “Because He Lives”.
Other great artists in the playlist include Dee Simone, Collin Raye, Dante Schmitz, Matt Faley and more.
Discovering new music is one of our favorite things about doing the Catholic Playlist, and this week doesn’t disappoint! We are always on the look out for new music and artists for the show, and this week we found Danielle Noonan, making her debut with “There Is No One Like You” from her album ‘The Awaken Project’.
In addition to searching out new music, we keep watch over what’s happening in the Catholic music scene and there’s a lot going on right now. For example Lee Roessler, who makes an appearance in the playlist this week, is working on a new album, as is Sarah Hart, Connor Flanagan and Rebecca Roubion. And Tori Harris has co-written and is featured in a new single released this week called “Coming Home”. Inspired by the coming Year of Mercy, the song is about the prodigal son and God’s forgiveness and judging by the comments we’ve read, it’s a hit. Check out the video of the song that we posted earlier too.
The rest of the playlist features performances from Out of Darkness, John Finch, Greg & Lizzy, Chris Bray, Dave Moore, Ben Walther, Hope and Justin (who we just learned is set to release their new album “Love & War” in 2016) and Army of Me. Enjoy!
Next Week: New music from Andrea Thomas!
Don’t forget to add your favorites to your personal playlists!
Tori Harris announced earlier this week that “Coming Home”, a song she co-wrote for the band, South by North, was just released. The band was excited to have Tori sing the lead vocal, plus they produced this awesome music video to promote the song:
Inspired by the Year of Mercy,”Coming Home” is about the Prodigal Son and God’s Forgiveness. We’ll be putting this song into the next playlist show, episode #102 coming out tomorrow or Friday.
It’s our 100th episode! It’s been a joy to produce and host the Catholic Playlist from the beginning, and this week for our 100th playlist we take a look back and celebrate some of the best and newest contemporary Christian music from Catholic artists that we’ve discovered and enjoyed along the way. We start the playlist with some of the most familiar names in the industry and then transition to some of our favorite new artists that we’ve all come to enjoy – Tori Harris, Connor Flanagan, PJ Anderson, Matt Faley, Alverlis, Katy Blythe, Dante Schmitz, and Taylor Tripodi. We also celebrate the diversity of the music to be found these days as Catholic hip hop artist Pontifex, aka Fr Claude Burns, makes an appearance in the playlist.
Plus we are so excited to debut a song from our new featured artist this week, Fr Kevin McGoldrick. His new album “Square Peg, Round Hole” is available for pre-order right now on iTunes and Amazon and we highly recommend it to our listeners! It’s a bluesy and joyful work of art with 10 amazing songs that bring the true, the good and the beautiful right into your ears.
You know, when first started the Catholic Playlist we didn’t know of very many contemporary Catholic artists so those we did know were featured quited often in the early playlists, starting with Matt Maher, who really needs no introduction:

Sharing the joy of the Gospel through the power of music is what we enjoy doing most with the Catholic Playlist show! And with the growing number of radio station playing the show and podcast listeners, we consider the Catholic Playlist show to be the most listened to Catholic contemporary Christian music show in America! It’s our mission to play the best and some of the very newest contemporary Christian music from Catholic artists only.
We’re really excited about the playlist this week because we have a ton of great songs to share from artists like Marie Miller, John Finch, Tori Harris, Ben Walther and Pasquale Talarico. We’ve got the latest from Adam Bitter, plus our new featured artist this week is Taylor Tripodi!
Taylor is a student at Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio and has just released her debut EP titled “Be Glorified”. As for why she wrote these songs and made this album, she says “I want the whole world to know Christ and experience His unfailing love. He is so worthy of our praise, and so, may the Lord truly “Be Glorified” in this music, and may all those who listen to these songs draw closer to His Sacred Heart, all for His Glory!”
Check her debut in our second segment of the show:
