S3:E28 Catholic Playlist Show #139

Featuring Alanna Boudreau, E.P.I.C. the Band, and Mike Mangione

We found new music for you in this week’s Catholic Playlist Show. Episode #139 brings you music from Alanna Boudreau’s new album Champion and a new group, E.P.I.C. the Band, suggested we give their music a spin, and after sampling it, we’re happy to oblige. We haven’t heard from Mike Mangione & The Union in quite a while, so we you’ll hear “Are We Going To Rise?” to fix that problem. And we picked songs we haven’t played before from the FOCUS Worship team (“Sing My Love/Like An Avalanche”), Taylor Tripodi (“Forgiven”) and Mathias Michael (“How Great Thou Art”).

Next week you can look forward to new music from Aly Aleigha’s new album “The Labyrinth” and Lee Roessler’s new album “How Sweet The Sound.”

S3:E20 Catholic Playlist Show #131

Hear New Music from Ben Walther, Alob & Emily Wilson

Discovery of new music and artists is a key part of what the Catholic Playlist show is all about. Missing a show means you’ll fall behind in discovering great new Christian music that you can share with friends and family. Sometimes all it takes is one song to help someone dig deeper in their faith, or awaken a dormant faith, or just give a little inspiration and encouragement in their day.

This week we’re pleased to have new music and a new artist in the Catholic Playlist. First, Ben Walther released his second album titled ‘Ablaze’, a 5 song collection that exhorts us to become a light in the darkness. In fact the title track, which leads off the second segment of the show, does just that with this refrain:

“Let’s set the world on fire, let’s raise his banner higher.”

alobFollowing that debut we have a new single to share from Andrew Laubacher (a.k.a ALOB) and Emily Wilson titled “Mercy Wins”. Alob is new to the Catholic Playlist but not new to the Catholic music scene as he’s collaborated and worked with many Catholic artists like Connor Flanagan, Katy Blythe, Francis Cabildo, and now Emily Wilson. “Mercy Wins” was written by Emily and Andrew and they “hope this song inspires all to love God more and accept the Mercy that is so freely given to us – His mercy that conquers all.”

Catholic Playlist #107

Catholic Playlist #107Thanks for streaming the show and we share the joy of the Gospel through the power of contemporary Christian music. And not just any music, but some of the best and even the very newest music released today by Catholic artists. Next week the first Sunday of Advent will be upon us and we’re going to be playing only Advent and Christmas music during the season – and there is a lot of great music here too! So don’t miss our Advent music shows throughout the season coming up next week, but until then, we’ve got another great playlist put together with tracks from Kara Klein, Dave Moore, Mikey Needleman, Taylor Tripodi, Fr Kevin McGoldrick, Dante Schmitz and others.

If you’re a fan of country music this next segment of the show is for you! Starting with our new featured artist this week, Wade Talley! We first heard Wade’s music at a Facebook group called Catholic Music Insiders – its a place for Catholic singers and songwriters to share their music, events and activities to help promote their work – and we thought he deserved a spot on the Catholic Playlist.

Wade TalleyWade grew up in Corning, Kansas and where he married his high school sweetheart and now has seven children on this earth and twin girls in heaven. He’s got a great story about his inspiration for writing songs that we’ll look to tell in a future show, but he just released his second album “To Sing Your Song” earlier this month, a follow up to his debut album “A Shot In The Dark”. His songs all center on themes of faith and family and speak of being a husband and a father as well as how to get through hard times. Wade makes his Catholic Playlist debut with “You Can’t Take It With You” in playlist #107. You can learn more about him and his music at www.wadetalleymusic.com

Here’s the iTunes playlist for this week’s show:

Catholic Playlist #102

Catholic Playlist #102Discovering new music is one of our favorite things about doing the Catholic Playlist, and this week doesn’t disappoint! We are always on the look out for new music and artists for the show, and this week we found Danielle Noonan, making her debut with “There Is No One Like You” from her album ‘The Awaken Project’.

In addition to searching out new music, we keep watch over what’s happening in the Catholic music scene and there’s a lot going on right now. For example Lee Roessler, who makes an appearance in the playlist this week, is working on a new album, as is Sarah Hart, Connor Flanagan and Rebecca Roubion. And Tori Harris has co-written and is featured in a new single released this week called “Coming Home”. Inspired by the coming Year of Mercy, the song is about the prodigal son and God’s forgiveness and judging by the comments we’ve read, it’s a hit. Check out the video of the song that we posted earlier too.

The rest of the playlist features performances from Out of Darkness, John Finch, Greg & Lizzy, Chris Bray, Dave Moore, Ben Walther, Hope and Justin (who we just learned is set to release their new album “Love & War” in 2016) and Army of Me. Enjoy!

Next Week: New music from Andrea Thomas!

Don’t forget to add your favorites to your personal playlists!

#95 Catholic Playlist Show

Catholic Playlist #95Sharing the joy of the Gospel through the power of music is what we enjoy doing most with the Catholic Playlist show! And with the growing number of radio station playing the show and podcast listeners, we consider the Catholic Playlist show to be the most listened to Catholic contemporary Christian music show in America! It’s our mission to play the best and some of the very newest contemporary Christian music from Catholic artists only.

We’re really excited about the playlist this week because we have a ton of great songs to share from artists like Marie Miller, John Finch, Tori Harris, Ben Walther and Pasquale Talarico. We’ve got the latest from Adam Bitter, plus our new featured artist this week is Taylor Tripodi!

TripodiTaylor is a student at Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio and has just released her debut EP titled “Be Glorified”. As for why she wrote these songs and made this album, she says “I want the whole world to know Christ and experience His unfailing love. He is so worthy of our praise, and so, may the Lord truly “Be Glorified” in this music, and may all those who listen to these songs draw closer to His Sacred Heart, all for His Glory!”

Check her debut in our second segment of the show:
