Spotlight on Lent Themed Music

Catholic Playlist #116The season of Lent is upon us and we hope and pray its been a fruitful one for you so far. This week’s episode is the first in a series of playlists with Lent-related music sprinkled throughout to mark the Lenten season. Some examples include Josh Blakesley Band’s “Here At The Cross”, Sarah Kroger’s “Run to the Cross” and Sarah Hart with “Be With Me, Lord (Ps 91)”. “One Dark Night” by Fr Kevin McGoldrick is another good song for lent, as is Audrey Assad’s “I Shall Not Want” from her album Fortunate Fall.

We’re always looking for some of the newest music to play, and this week we’re pleased to debut a new single from Teresa Peterson titled “He Makes All Things New”, which happens to be the name of her spring tour starting in February. Check out her website for dates and concert locations.

Last, but not least, Fr Rob Galea joins the playlist this week with “No Greater Love”. We think you’ll like his sound and is a solid addition to our roster of artists.

Catholic Playlist #115After 2 weeks off the Catholic Playlist show returns with great contemporary Christian music from Catholic artists. We have the debut of 2 new singles in the playlist, one from PJ Anderson, the other from Jeremy & Ryan. Also in the playlist is Teresa Peterson, who’s going to be touring the midwest in March and April, Emily Wilson, Tori Harris, Ben Walther, Steve Angrisano, and Out of Darkness.

The debut from PJ Anderson titled “Love Will Heal” leads off our playlist. It was released this in conjunction with his appearance at the March for Life Youth Rally and Mass in 2016. Enjoy!

New Featured Artist: Mathias Michael

We’re pleased to introduce Mathias Michael as our featured new artist in Episode 2 of Season 3 of the Catholic Playlist Show. According to his webiste at www.mmichaelmusic.com, music has always been Mathias’s passion, and after attending a Matt Maher led worship concert, he knew contemporary Christian music was something he wanted to do. He began writing his own music and his big break came at the 2011 National Catholic Youth Conference when he won the first ever “Top Talent” competition.

New Shows Kick Off 2016

The Catholic Playlist show returns in 2016 to continue the mission of playing the best and newest contemporary Christian music from Catholic artists. This marks our third season of shows, and we’ll be referring to them in Netflix fashion from now on and not by show number. So this show is Episode 1 of Season 3 or S3:E1. What do you think?

The biggest surprise in store for you leads off our second segment. Tom Wilson, the actor who plays Biff Tannen in the “Back to the Future” trilogy of movies, recorded a contemporary Christian music album in 2000 titled “In the Name of the Father.” Turns out that Tom is a devout Catholic and we couldn’t resist playing a track from the album. So if you want to know what Biff Tannen sounds like as a singer – singing Christian music – this show is your chance.

Catholic Playlist #42The Catholic Playlist Worship show returns in 2016 to continue playing many of the best and most loved Catholic hymns and traditional music.
