The Church ends its liturgical year by celebrating the Feast of Christ the King this coming Sunday, November 20, and we thought we’d have a little fun this week. We searched our library of music for songs with ‘king’ in the title and came up with a playlist theme for episode #147. New Single Debut from Marie Miller

A new single from Marie Miller headlines this episode of the Catholic Playlist show, along with another selection from E.P.I.C. the Band for you to enjoy. We’re rapidly coming to the end of 2016 which means that Advent is right around the corner. As we do every year, each Catholic Playlist during the season will feature Advent and Christmas songs and hymns. The Light - Extraordinary Mission MusicAnd we’re pleased to debut a single from a new album titled “The Light” from Rachel Ann & Cassandra Acree. The duo was formerly known as SimplyRC, but now they unite for a new EP of music featured in Extraordinary Mission events led by Dr John Wood. The single is titled “Fill Up My Darkenss” and Cassandra offers us some insight into what inspired her to write this song.

Spotlight on Lent Themed Music

Catholic Playlist #116The season of Lent is upon us and we hope and pray its been a fruitful one for you so far. This week’s episode is the first in a series of playlists with Lent-related music sprinkled throughout to mark the Lenten season. Some examples include Josh Blakesley Band’s “Here At The Cross”, Sarah Kroger’s “Run to the Cross” and Sarah Hart with “Be With Me, Lord (Ps 91)”. “One Dark Night” by Fr Kevin McGoldrick is another good song for lent, as is Audrey Assad’s “I Shall Not Want” from her album Fortunate Fall.

We’re always looking for some of the newest music to play, and this week we’re pleased to debut a new single from Teresa Peterson titled “He Makes All Things New”, which happens to be the name of her spring tour starting in February. Check out her website for dates and concert locations.

Last, but not least, Fr Rob Galea joins the playlist this week with “No Greater Love”. We think you’ll like his sound and is a solid addition to our roster of artists.
