S2:E24 Catholic Playlist Worship #67

Two classics from the St Louis Jesuits hightlight this edition of Catholic Playlist Worship. The music of the St Louis Jesuits – Bob Dufford, S.J., John Foley, S.J. and Dan Schutte – continue to permeate the liturgical music books for the last 40+ years, and “Earthen Vessels” and “Turn to Me” are well known. So are selections like “Make Me a Channel of Your Peace”, performed by Friar Alessandro and “On Eagle’s Wings” sung by Melinda Kirigin-Voss. We have some new music in our Worship playlist this week for you to enjoy. First, it’s “Gloria Laus”, another selection from ‘The Letters’ Movie Soundtrack, and Annie Karto offers up “Refuge For You” for those suffering from the tragedy in Nice and everywhere around the world. After an unscheduled break the Catholic Playlist Worship show returns with another playlist of sacred and traditional music, including Gregorian chant from the Monks of Norcia. Michelle Romary sings “I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say”, Vince Ambrosetti performs “Come, You Who Labor” and Voces8 gives a splendid vocal performance in “Ubi Caritas”. It means the season of spring is now getting into full swing here in Ohio, the end of the school year is rapidly approaching, it’s my birthday month and last but certainly not least, it’s the month dedicated to the Blessed Mother! Catholic Playlist Worship #52After a couple of weeks off for Easter which included hosting a pledge drive for Holy Family Radio, we’re back and ready to bring you another playlist.

We dug into the recent past a bit this week with the playlist, as have some familiar “classics” you’ve heard at Mass for years. These songs include “Come to the Water” from the St Louis Jesuits, “Just a Closer Walk With Thee” performed by the WLP Choir, and “We Remember” from the album “Catholic Classics, Vol 1”.

Catholic Playlist Worship – #33

Catholic Playlist Worship #33We’re back again with more great music that will have your mind lifted up to God throughout. WLP Choir leads off the playlist with “Holy God, We Praise Thy Name”, and later Marian Grace join in with “Sweet Sacrament”.

The St Louis Jesuits bring us a classic recording of “Earthen Vessels”, which we haven’t heard in quite a while, and Jack Cassidy smoothly croons “Be Still My Soul” with a skill not often found in a 14 year old!
