Catholic Playlist Worship – #38

Special Advent and Christmas Episode

Catholic Playlist Worship #38Once again we share the joy of the Gospel through music on the Catholic Playlist Worship show. Normally we’d be playing the best and some of the very newest traditional and sacred Catholic music. But this Sunday marks the start of the new Liturgical year and the Advent season, so instead of music we typically play, for the next several weeks we’ll be playing the best and some of the newest Advent and Christmas music available. Our playlist this week features music from Jackie Evancho, The Priests, Adrianne Price, Jon Sarta, Marian Grace, and the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of the Apostles. The Boys of St Paul’s Choir School and their album ‘Christmas in Harvard Square’, a great new release last year, leads off our playlist with ‘In the Bleak Midwinter’.

As usual, you can find the songs in playlist #9 in iTunes using these links:

Catholic Playlist Worship – #32

Catholic Playlist Worship #2October is the month of the Holy Rosary, so for this week’s edition of the Catholic Playlist Worship show we filled it with as many Marian songs and hymns that we could find.

The results include songs like “Immaculate Mary” by The Cathedral Singers, “Salve Regina” by L’Angelus, and “Sing of Mary” by The Glory Collective featuring Kevin Heider. Of course the show wouldn’t be complete with “Ave Maria To Thee Holy Virgin” by the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist and “Hail Mary, Full of Grace” by the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of the Apostles. Oh, and “Ave Maria” by Andrea Bocelli isn’t to be missed too!

As usual, here are the iTunes links to the songs in the playlist:

Catholic Playlist Worship – #31

Catholic Playlist Worship #31Some ‘classic’ favorites make an appearance in this week’s episode of Catholic Playlist Worship. First, there’s a 1975 recording of “Turn to Me” from the Saint Louis Jesuits. While it’s not recorded with the best quality (it’s probably a digital copy of the original vinyl recording), it nevertheless will bring back fond memories of hearing it for years at Mass.

More fond memories are in store with “Hear I Am, Lord” from Dan Schutte, but this one is a special 30th anniversary release, so it sounds great. Other artists appearing this week include Anna Nuzzo, Jon Sarta, Twila Paris, James Rosenbloom, Jackie Evancho and more. Enjoy playlist #31!
