Our featured new artist this week is the Pete Buncher Band, who released their latest album ‘Am I Worth Stealing’ just this week. We’ll play “Set Us Free” from them in the second segment of the show, followed by a new selection called “The Dark Side” from Kevin Heider that I’m really excited to play for you. It affected us deeply and we hope you find it as beautiful and haunting as we did.

This playlist – which has not 1 but 2 new song debuts, including the first ever EP from Katy Blythe, who is our featured new artist this week. The other debut is from Pasquale Talarico who co-wrote and recorded a song for Catholic Relief Services – an anthem of sorts called ‘One Family’. Other artists in the playlist include Jackie Bissin, Mike Mangione, Danielle Rose, Noelle Garcia, Kevin Heider, and a Tori Harris double take of 2 songs off her new EP Sweet Dolor that we haven’t played yet. The Catholic Playlist Song of the Week for July 14th comes from Kevin Heider. Kevin is from Dayton, OH and was recently featured on the Catholic Playlist show, in episode #44. His most recent album release is in fact a double album called ‘The Spark’. And in an age of 4 or 5 song EPs, enough content to fill a double album is quite ambitious! Our song of the week is ‘The Great Flood’, and if you listen closely, the subtle beat behind the song is an actual recording of Kevin’s unborn nephew’s heartbeat.
