Three New Songs Make Their Debut

Catholic Playlist 125At the end of nearly every show, I exhort the listeners to sign up to our email list to “get the latest news and happenings in the Catholic music scene.” I’m betting a heavy amount that prior to this show’s existence, virtually no one ever considered the “Catholic music scene” to be a real thing. After all, this phrase implies (1) there are enough people making great music, and (2) there are enough people interested in their music to form a reasonably sized fan base. Right now, this radio show & podcast is doing all it can to attract and grow a fan base for the music. Thank you to every one who listens to this show and has become a fan of this music!

Rebecca Roubion Sleepless NightsAs for the people making great music, there is certainly a lot to get excited about. New albums are coming soon from PJ Anderson, Marie Miller, Connor Flanagan and Lee Roessler. Rebecca Roubion just released her newest album “Sleepless Nights”, John Finch has a new single out with Rita West, and the Vigil Project just released the last song in their series of songs for Lent and Easter. And I’m sure there are many more projects in the works too. It’s a good time to be a fan of the Catholic Playlist!

John Finch Heart of MercyThis week’s playlist features brand new music from Rebecca Roubion, John Finch and Andrea Thomas of the Vigil Project debuting this week, along with performances from Dave Moore, Noelle Garcia, Katy Blythe, last week’s new debut from Rachel Ann & Cassandra Acree plus Josh Blakesley and more. Enjoy!

Catholic Playlist #107

Catholic Playlist #107Thanks for streaming the show and we share the joy of the Gospel through the power of contemporary Christian music. And not just any music, but some of the best and even the very newest music released today by Catholic artists. Next week the first Sunday of Advent will be upon us and we’re going to be playing only Advent and Christmas music during the season – and there is a lot of great music here too! So don’t miss our Advent music shows throughout the season coming up next week, but until then, we’ve got another great playlist put together with tracks from Kara Klein, Dave Moore, Mikey Needleman, Taylor Tripodi, Fr Kevin McGoldrick, Dante Schmitz and others.

If you’re a fan of country music this next segment of the show is for you! Starting with our new featured artist this week, Wade Talley! We first heard Wade’s music at a Facebook group called Catholic Music Insiders – its a place for Catholic singers and songwriters to share their music, events and activities to help promote their work – and we thought he deserved a spot on the Catholic Playlist.

Wade TalleyWade grew up in Corning, Kansas and where he married his high school sweetheart and now has seven children on this earth and twin girls in heaven. He’s got a great story about his inspiration for writing songs that we’ll look to tell in a future show, but he just released his second album “To Sing Your Song” earlier this month, a follow up to his debut album “A Shot In The Dark”. His songs all center on themes of faith and family and speak of being a husband and a father as well as how to get through hard times. Wade makes his Catholic Playlist debut with “You Can’t Take It With You” in playlist #107. You can learn more about him and his music at www.wadetalleymusic.com

Catholic Playlist #102

Catholic Playlist #102Discovering new music is one of our favorite things about doing the Catholic Playlist, and this week doesn’t disappoint! We are always on the look out for new music and artists for the show, and this week we found Danielle Noonan, making her debut with “There Is No One Like You” from her album ‘The Awaken Project’.

In addition to searching out new music, we keep watch over what’s happening in the Catholic music scene and there’s a lot going on right now. For example Lee Roessler, who makes an appearance in the playlist this week, is working on a new album, as is Sarah Hart, Connor Flanagan and Rebecca Roubion. And Tori Harris has co-written and is featured in a new single released this week called “Coming Home”. Inspired by the coming Year of Mercy, the song is about the prodigal son and God’s forgiveness and judging by the comments we’ve read, it’s a hit. Check out the video of the song that we posted earlier too.

The rest of the playlist features performances from Out of Darkness, John Finch, Greg & Lizzy, Chris Bray, Dave Moore, Ben Walther, Hope and Justin (who we just learned is set to release their new album “Love & War” in 2016) and Army of Me. Enjoy!

Next Week: New music from Andrea Thomas!

Don’t forget to add your favorites to your personal playlists!

It’s a great and bold mission we take up each week to produce the show, and we are grateful for the opportunity to do this work.
