S3:E28 Catholic Playlist Show #139

Featuring Alanna Boudreau, E.P.I.C. the Band, and Mike Mangione

We found new music for you in this week’s Catholic Playlist Show. Episode #139 brings you music from Alanna Boudreau’s new album Champion and a new group, E.P.I.C. the Band, suggested we give their music a spin, and after sampling it, we’re happy to oblige. Next week you can look forward to new music from Aly Aleigha’s new album “The Labyrinth” and Lee Roessler’s new album “How Sweet The Sound.”

Another new release from the Vigil Project

A new release from the Vigil Project headlines this episode of the Catholic Playlist. “I Have Seen The Lord” by John Finch is the latest from the Vigil Project and offers a passionate take on the Easter experience as seen from Mary Magdalene’s perspective. John offers more about the inspiration to the song to lead off the second segment of the show, which you can also watch right now:

Other great artists and songs heard this week include Matt Faley (“On My Own”), Matt Maher (“Deliverer”), Jaime Thietten (“Chasing Me”) and Donny Todd (“Heart”).

Catholic Playlist #107

Catholic Playlist #107Thanks for streaming the show and we share the joy of the Gospel through the power of contemporary Christian music. And not just any music, but some of the best and even the very newest music released today by Catholic artists. Next week the first Sunday of Advent will be upon us and we’re going to be playing only Advent and Christmas music during the season – and there is a lot of great music here too! So don’t miss our Advent music shows throughout the season coming up next week, but until then, we’ve got another great playlist put together with tracks from Kara Klein, Dave Moore, Mikey Needleman, Taylor Tripodi, Fr Kevin McGoldrick, Dante Schmitz and others.

If you’re a fan of country music this next segment of the show is for you! Starting with our new featured artist this week, Wade Talley! We first heard Wade’s music at a Facebook group called Catholic Music Insiders – its a place for Catholic singers and songwriters to share their music, events and activities to help promote their work – and we thought he deserved a spot on the Catholic Playlist.

Wade TalleyWade grew up in Corning, Kansas and where he married his high school sweetheart and now has seven children on this earth and twin girls in heaven. He’s got a great story about his inspiration for writing songs that we’ll look to tell in a future show, but he just released his second album “To Sing Your Song” earlier this month, a follow up to his debut album “A Shot In The Dark”. His songs all center on themes of faith and family and speak of being a husband and a father as well as how to get through hard times. Wade makes his Catholic Playlist debut with “You Can’t Take It With You” in playlist #107. You can learn more about him and his music at www.wadetalleymusic.com

Here’s the iTunes playlist for this week’s show:

Catholic Playlist #100It’s our 100th episode! It’s been a joy to produce and host the Catholic Playlist from the beginning, and this week for our 100th playlist we take a look back and celebrate some of the best and newest contemporary Christian music from Catholic artists that we’ve discovered and enjoyed along the way. We also celebrate the diversity of the music to be found these days as Catholic hip hop artist Pontifex, aka Fr Claude Burns, makes an appearance in the playlist.

Kevin McGoldrickPlus we are so excited to debut a song from our new featured artist this week, Fr Kevin McGoldrick. His new album “Square Peg, Round Hole” is available for pre-order right now on iTunes and Amazon and we highly recommend it to our listeners! It’s a bluesy and joyful work of art with 10 amazing songs that bring the true, the good and the beautiful right into your ears.

You know, when first started the Catholic Playlist we didn’t know of very many contemporary Catholic artists so those we did know were featured quited often in the early playlists, starting with Matt Maher, who really needs no introduction:
