S3:E29 Catholic Playlist Show #140

Every so often we like to have a little fun with our playlists. This week we lead off with a fun song simply titled “Sing Along” by David Casper. Aptly subtitled “Catholic Love Song”, if you’re a single person be prepared to sing along with the refrain as this song is for you. Lee Roessler just released a new album titled Coming Home and we debut the first single released from it titled “How Sweet the Sound”. Finally, we found a song from Sarah Hart’s new album Till the Song is Sung that we’re digging now titled “Source and Yield”. We hope you’ll like it too.

Dana Catherine Makes Her Debut

We’ve got a great show in store for you with new music and a new featured artist, but first we want to welcome 2 new radio affiliates now playing the Catholic Playlist show! The Catholic Playlist can now be heard on Sacred Heart Radio KQSH 90.7 in Dodge City, Kansas, and The Station of the Cross WLOF 101.7 in Buffalo, NY.

In our playlist today we have new music from Adam Bitter and Joe Zambon who both released new albums recently, Jackie Bissin released a new single too, plus songs from Taylor Tripodi, Aly Aleigha, Ike Ndolo, Chris Bray, Dante Schmitz and last week’s new featured artist Dan Francis.

Dana CatherinePlus our new featured artist is Dana Catherine, a Catholic singer/songwriter, who serves as a youth minister in Raleigh, NC and travels throughout the U.S. to encourage and inspire others with her songs and witness. Recently signed with a new Christian record label, Rekindle Records, Dana just released her first single, “My Savior in Me” which you can hear leading off the second segment of the show.

Hear Debut of New Album from Sarah Hart

Catholic Playlist #128The Catholic Playlist is expanding! This week the show welcomes the listeners of Catholic Community Radio to the Catholic Playlist. The Catholic Playlist Show can now be heard Saturday afternoons on 690AM WQNO New Orleans and 1380AM WPYR Baton Rouge in Louisiana. We are so happy to have y’all on board! These 2 new stations raises the total to 25 radio stations across the US playing the show.

This week our lineup of performers include Curtis Stephan, FOCUS Worship, Fr Rob Galea, Lee Roessler, Chris Bray, Dee Simone and many others. Catholic Playlist #122It’s wonderful to be back after a couple of weeks off, mostly due to hosting the Holy Family Radio annual pledge drive. All the prep and on air work involved with that event makes it a little tough to put together a great show. But that’s exactly what’s in store for you in playlist #122.

A new release from the Vigil Project headlines this episode of the Catholic Playlist. “I Have Seen The Lord” by John Finch is the latest from the Vigil Project and offers a passionate take on the Easter experience as seen from Mary Magdalene’s perspective. Catholic Playlist #102Discovering new music is one of our favorite things about doing the Catholic Playlist, and this week doesn’t disappoint! We are always on the look out for new music and artists for the show, and this week we found Danielle Noonan, making her debut with “There Is No One Like You” from her album ‘The Awaken Project’.

In addition to searching out new music, we keep watch over what’s happening in the Catholic music scene and there’s a lot going on right now. For example Lee Roessler, who makes an appearance in the playlist this week, is working on a new album, as is Sarah Hart, Connor Flanagan and Rebecca Roubion. And Tori Harris has co-written and is featured in a new single released this week called “Coming Home”. Inspired by the coming Year of Mercy, the song is about the prodigal son and God’s forgiveness and judging by the comments we’ve read, it’s a hit. Check out the video of the song that we posted earlier too.

The rest of the playlist features performances from Out of Darkness, John Finch, Greg & Lizzy, Chris Bray, Dave Moore, Ben Walther, Hope and Justin (who we just learned is set to release their new album “Love & War” in 2016) and Army of Me. Enjoy!

For those of you who might be new to the show, you might be asking, “What is the Catholic Playlist show?” Well, simply put, the Catholic Playlist is a show where you’ll hear the best and some of the very newest contemporary Christian music from Catholic artists. This is music you won’t hear on mainstream Christian radio stations but it deserves to be heard!

Right now the show is heard on 16 radio stations across the US, including our 2 newest affiliates – the Living Bread Radio Network in Canton and Youngstown in Ohio and Aquinas Communications on KCRD-LP in Dubuque, Iowa and soon to be another new signal reaching Galena, IL.

This week our playlist features a unique collection of music, from the likes of The Thirsting, Sam Rocha, Stephen Kirk, Joe Zambon, Greg&Lizzy, Dane Schmitz and Alverlis. And Josh Blakesley Band is featured at the very top of the playlist with ‘Sing Hallelujah’.
