Catholic Playlist Worship #56Welcome to our latest playlist this week as we head into Ordinary Time in the liturgical calendar. Once again we’ve got a great selection of music. A couple of songs are perfect for Pentecost that we just celebrated, and then there is a nice variety of sacred hymns throughout. The Letters SoundtrackThis week we lead off the playlist with a composition from the official movie soundtrack of “The Letters”, a movie that explores the life of Mother Teresa through letters she wrote to her longtime friend and spiritual advisor, Father Celeste van Exem over a nearly 50-year period. With her canonization coming up in September, we thought it was appropriate to share this music with you. This first selection from the soundtrack is titled “Prayer of St Francis”.

It means the season of spring is now getting into full swing here in Ohio, the end of the school year is rapidly approaching, it’s my birthday month and last but certainly not least, it’s the month dedicated to the Blessed Mother! Catholic Playlist Worship #52After a couple of weeks off for Easter which included hosting a pledge drive for Holy Family Radio, we’re back and ready to bring you another playlist.

We dug into the recent past a bit this week with the playlist, as have some familiar “classics” you’ve heard at Mass for years. These songs include “Come to the Water” from the St Louis Jesuits, “Just a Closer Walk With Thee” performed by the WLP Choir, and “We Remember” from the album “Catholic Classics, Vol 1”.
