Another new release from the Vigil Project

Catholic Playlist #122It’s wonderful to be back after a couple of weeks off, mostly due to hosting the Holy Family Radio annual pledge drive. All the prep and on air work involved with that event makes it a little tough to put together a great show. But that’s exactly what’s in store for you in playlist #122.

A new release from the Vigil Project headlines this episode of the Catholic Playlist. “I Have Seen The Lord” by John Finch is the latest from the Vigil Project and offers a passionate take on the Easter experience as seen from Mary Magdalene’s perspective. John offers more about the inspiration to the song to lead off the second segment of the show, which you can also watch right now:

S2:E10 Catholic Playlist Worship – #52

Catholic Playlist Worship #52After a couple of weeks off for Easter which included hosting a pledge drive for Holy Family Radio, we’re back and ready to bring you another playlist.

We dug into the recent past a bit this week with the playlist, as have some familiar “classics” you’ve heard at Mass for years. These songs include “Come to the Water” from the St Louis Jesuits, “Just a Closer Walk With Thee” performed by the WLP Choir, and “We Remember” from the album “Catholic Classics, Vol 1”.

Catholic Playlist #121Happy Easter! It’s time to sing Alleluia again because He is risen for us today. So happy to be back and posting a new show this week (You can find old shows on our archive page.

A new single from Sarah Kroger headlines the playlist this week, her first new music in about 3 years. Titled “This Is My Story“, Sarah shares the story behind with a thoughtful post on her blog. As a bonus, she also release a video of the song too:

Catholic Playlist Worship #46The season of Lent goes on and this week’s Catholic Playlist Worship episode is the next playlist of Lent themed music for your enjoyment. Jon Sarta offers instrumental versions of “Hosea” and “Jesus, Remember Me”, and we have 2 selections from Lent at Ephesus by the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of the Apostles – “Jesus, My Love” and “O Sacred Head Surrounded”.

We recently learned of the group Voces8 and we feature their performance of “Ubi Caritas”. For a little change of pace we have a few non-chorale songs in the playlist, namely Tom Booth with “Sacred Silence” and Chris Muglia’s “I Need a Savior”. From top to bottom, this is one of our best Lent themed playlists yet.

Spotlight on Lent Themed Music

Catholic Playlist #116The season of Lent is upon us and we hope and pray its been a fruitful one for you so far. This week’s episode is the first in a series of playlists with Lent-related music sprinkled throughout to mark the Lenten season. Some examples include Josh Blakesley Band’s “Here At The Cross”, Sarah Kroger’s “Run to the Cross” and Sarah Hart with “Be With Me, Lord (Ps 91)”. “One Dark Night” by Fr Kevin McGoldrick is another good song for lent, as is Audrey Assad’s “I Shall Not Want” from her album Fortunate Fall.

We’re always looking for some of the newest music to play, and this week we’re pleased to debut a new single from Teresa Peterson titled “He Makes All Things New”, which happens to be the name of her spring tour starting in February. Check out her website for dates and concert locations.

Last, but not least, Fr Rob Galea joins the playlist this week with “No Greater Love”. We think you’ll like his sound and is a solid addition to our roster of artists.

S3:E4 Catholic Playlist Show #115

Catholic Playlist #115After 2 weeks off the Catholic Playlist show returns with great contemporary Christian music from Catholic artists. We have the debut of 2 new singles in the playlist, one from PJ Anderson, the other from Jeremy & Ryan. Also in the playlist is Teresa Peterson, who’s going to be touring the midwest in March and April, Emily Wilson, Tori Harris, Ben Walther, Steve Angrisano, and Out of Darkness.

The debut from PJ Anderson titled “Love Will Heal” leads off our playlist. It was released this in conjunction with his appearance at the March for Life Youth Rally and Mass in 2016. Enjoy!
