S3:E28 Catholic Playlist Show #139

Featuring Alanna Boudreau, E.P.I.C. the Band, and Mike Mangione

We found new music for you in this week’s Catholic Playlist Show. Episode #139 brings you music from Alanna Boudreau’s new album Champion and a new group, E.P.I.C. the Band, suggested we give their music a spin, and after sampling it, we’re happy to oblige. We haven’t heard from Mike Mangione & The Union in quite a while, so we you’ll hear “Are We Going To Rise?” to fix that problem. And we picked songs we haven’t played before from the FOCUS Worship team (“Sing My Love/Like An Avalanche”), Taylor Tripodi (“Forgiven”) and Mathias Michael (“How Great Thou Art”).

S2:E25 Catholic Playlist Worship #68

To commemorate the recent canonization of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, we lead off with two tracks that relate to her life. First, it’s “Prayer of St Francis” from the soundtrack of the movie The Letters, based on her life, followed by “I Thirst” from Annie Karto. Mother Teresa said that those words, “I thirst”, written in their chapel and taken from Jesus’s words from the cross on Good Friday, were a constant reminder of the purpose of the Missionaries of Charity. Other performers appearing in this episode include Kitty Cleveland, Jack Cassidy, Audrey Assad, Lorraine Hess, Collin Raye and several more.

It’s the time of year when the kids head back to school (I’ve got 3 in school, 1 in college and 2 married off), football season is upon us (yes!!), the weather begins to cool down just a bit as we see the fall season coming soon and in no time we’ll be seeing pumpkin spice flavored stuff advertised everywhere. Whether or not you like pumpkin spice lattes, which I don’t (I can’t stand coffee), you’ll like the music we’ve picked for the playlist in show #137. Two classics from the St Louis Jesuits hightlight this edition of Catholic Playlist Worship. The music of the St Louis Jesuits – Bob Dufford, S.J., John Foley, S.J. and Dan Schutte – continue to permeate the liturgical music books for the last 40+ years, and “Earthen Vessels” and “Turn to Me” are well known. Dana Catherine Makes Her Debut

We’ve got a great show in store for you with new music and a new featured artist, but first we want to welcome 2 new radio affiliates now playing the Catholic Playlist show! The Catholic Playlist can now be heard on Sacred Heart Radio KQSH 90.7 in Dodge City, Kansas, and The Station of the Cross WLOF 101.7 in Buffalo, NY.

Recently signed with a new Christian record label, Rekindle Records, Dana just released her first single, “My Savior in Me” which you can hear leading off the second segment of the show.
