Episode #35 of the Catholic Playlist Worship show offers some selections that we haven’t played in while, like “The Lord’s Prayer” by Jackie Evancho, “Peace Is Flowing Like A River” by Dana, and “Surely the Presence of the Lord Is in This Place” by Dawn Dinome. Plus we added Fr Stan Fortuna and his cover of “Gift of Finest Wheat”.
Other artists featured include Kathleen Fowle, The Monks of Norcia, James Rosenbloom, Collin Raye, L’Angelus and more.

Welcome to the show that plays the best and very newest contemporary Christian music from Catholic artists today – a little show we call the Catholic Playlist. This is great inspirational music that you won’t hear anywhere else, so get ready to discover new music and new artists that you never knew about until right now. In our playlist this week we have the new radio single from Matt Maher’s latest album, great selections from Taylor Tripodi, Greg & Lizzy, John Finch, Josh Blakesley, and Jeremy & Ryan. Plus we have new featured artist this week – Aly Aleigha.
Aly Aleigha is a recent graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville and currently works at the University of Minnesota, Duluth Newman Center under Father Mike Schmitz. Aly’s debut EP “Jealous Love” was recorded at the end of her senior year at Franciscan and was released in June 2015. To learn more about Aly, her music, speaking and more, check out her website www.aly-aleigha.com.
Another great collection of sacred and traditional music awaits in Playlist #34 of the Catholic Playlist Worship show. You’ll hear great classic hymns such as “Come Thou Found of Every Blessing” by Collin Raye, a piano instrumental interpretation of “How Great Thou Art” from Jon Sarta, and “O Sanctissima” by Beth Nielsen Chapman. Some newer music includes “Taste and See” from Steve Angrisano, “Be Not Afraid” from Kitty Cleveland and “Sacred Silence” by Tom Booth.
Plus we have some Gregorian Chant and songs from Vince Ambrosetti, Dan Schutte, the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist and the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of the Apostles.
Here’s the iTunes links to the songs in the playlist this week:
We’re back again with more great music that will have your mind lifted up to God throughout. WLP Choir leads off the playlist with “Holy God, We Praise Thy Name”, and later Marian Grace join in with “Sweet Sacrament”.
The St Louis Jesuits bring us a classic recording of “Earthen Vessels”, which we haven’t heard in quite a while, and Jack Cassidy smoothly croons “Be Still My Soul” with a skill not often found in a 14 year old!
Other artists in the playlist include Kitty Cleveland, Jon Niven, Jackie Evancho, Edwin Fawcett, Vince Ambrosetti and more. Enjoy:
Discovering new music is one of our favorite things about doing the Catholic Playlist, and this week doesn’t disappoint! We are always on the look out for new music and artists for the show, and this week we found Danielle Noonan, making her debut with “There Is No One Like You” from her album ‘The Awaken Project’.
In addition to searching out new music, we keep watch over what’s happening in the Catholic music scene and there’s a lot going on right now. For example Lee Roessler, who makes an appearance in the playlist this week, is working on a new album, as is Sarah Hart, Connor Flanagan and Rebecca Roubion. And Tori Harris has co-written and is featured in a new single released this week called “Coming Home”. Inspired by the coming Year of Mercy, the song is about the prodigal son and God’s forgiveness and judging by the comments we’ve read, it’s a hit. Check out the video of the song that we posted earlier too.
The rest of the playlist features performances from Out of Darkness, John Finch, Greg & Lizzy, Chris Bray, Dave Moore, Ben Walther, Hope and Justin (who we just learned is set to release their new album “Love & War” in 2016) and Army of Me. Enjoy!
Next Week: New music from Andrea Thomas!
Don’t forget to add your favorites to your personal playlists!
October is the month of the Holy Rosary, so for this week’s edition of the Catholic Playlist Worship show we filled it with as many Marian songs and hymns that we could find.
The results include songs like “Immaculate Mary” by The Cathedral Singers, “Salve Regina” by L’Angelus, and “Sing of Mary” by The Glory Collective featuring Kevin Heider. Of course the show wouldn’t be complete with “Ave Maria To Thee Holy Virgin” by the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist and “Hail Mary, Full of Grace” by the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of the Apostles. Oh, and “Ave Maria” by Andrea Bocelli isn’t to be missed too!
As usual, here are the iTunes links to the songs in the playlist:
September 29 happened to be National Coffee Day. ‘Coffee’ also happens to be the first radio single from Fr Kevin McGoldrick’s new albulm ‘Square Peg, Round Hole’ (pre-order here or here). Inspired by these facts, we decided to open this week’s playlist episode with a set of songs that set the tone for a great day. So if you’ve been looking for some ‘wake up’ morning music to get you inspired to take on the day, pay close attention to our first segment of the show.
Performers in this week’s playlist include Sarah Kroger, Kevin Heider, Rebecca Roubion, Steve Angrisano, Donny Todd, and Kara Klein. Stick around to the end of the show too as the last segment of the show features an eclectic mix of music that includes tracks from ooberfuse, Delmore and Benedictio. Enjoy!
Some ‘classic’ favorites make an appearance in this week’s episode of Catholic Playlist Worship. First, there’s a 1975 recording of “Turn to Me” from the Saint Louis Jesuits. While it’s not recorded with the best quality (it’s probably a digital copy of the original vinyl recording), it nevertheless will bring back fond memories of hearing it for years at Mass.
More fond memories are in store with “Hear I Am, Lord” from Dan Schutte, but this one is a special 30th anniversary release, so it sounds great. Other artists appearing this week include Anna Nuzzo, Jon Sarta, Twila Paris, James Rosenbloom, Jackie Evancho and more. Enjoy playlist #31!
It’s our 100th episode! It’s been a joy to produce and host the Catholic Playlist from the beginning, and this week for our 100th playlist we take a look back and celebrate some of the best and newest contemporary Christian music from Catholic artists that we’ve discovered and enjoyed along the way. We start the playlist with some of the most familiar names in the industry and then transition to some of our favorite new artists that we’ve all come to enjoy – Tori Harris, Connor Flanagan, PJ Anderson, Matt Faley, Alverlis, Katy Blythe, Dante Schmitz, and Taylor Tripodi. We also celebrate the diversity of the music to be found these days as Catholic hip hop artist Pontifex, aka Fr Claude Burns, makes an appearance in the playlist.
Plus we are so excited to debut a song from our new featured artist this week, Fr Kevin McGoldrick. His new album “Square Peg, Round Hole” is available for pre-order right now on iTunes and Amazon and we highly recommend it to our listeners! It’s a bluesy and joyful work of art with 10 amazing songs that bring the true, the good and the beautiful right into your ears.
You know, when first started the Catholic Playlist we didn’t know of very many contemporary Catholic artists so those we did know were featured quited often in the early playlists, starting with Matt Maher, who really needs no introduction:

A week or more ago I was introduced to Rebecca Roubion and her music. She had recently performed for a pilgrimage group in Nashville as they made their way to the EWTN studios in Birmingham, AL. The group was the staff at St Gabriel Catholic Radio, who were celebrating 10 years on the air in Columbus, Ohio. St Gabriel Catholic Radio AM820 broadcasts the Catholic Playlist show, and after an impressive performance from Rebecca, thought we might want to consider adding her music to the Catholic Playlist.
And so Rebecca Roubion joins the playlist this week as we share the joy of the Gospel through the power of contemporary Christian music here on the Catholic Playlist show. This happens to be playlist #98, which means we’re just 2 more playlists away to reach 100! I can tell you with all honesty that I never imagined that we’d reach this milestone. But we’ve been blessed by God to continue this work because He wants you to know about this great music. In addition to Rebecca Roubion’s song “What Love Looks Like”, the playlist has music from Francis Cabildo, Shaun Garrison, NOVUM, Cody Roth, Dee Simone, Jeremy & Ryan, and others, including “Cathedral” from Greg & Lizzy.
