Three new song debuts highlight playlist #194 of the Catholic Playlist Show! Up first in the playlist is the debut of “Faithful” the newest single from Teresa Peterson. Her new EP, also titled “Faithful” is set for release on June 1, 2018 – you can pre-order here now. A couple weeks ago we debuted a new single from Taylor Tripodi (“You Heard My Name“), and now she’s released another track this week called “Awakening“. We play both of these great new songs back to back! Then at the start of the second segment of the show we debut the newest effort from The Vigil Project and Greg&Lizzy, “Fire of Your Love” is a song meant to celebrate the Feast of Pentecost. We’re back finally with a new Catholic Playlist Worship show! It’s been awhile in coming, but episode #113 offers some great music for your listening pleasure. Oh how time runs by. It’s been over 2(!) months since I lasted posted a new show here to the website and I feel terrible about it for a couple of reasons. First, the show is first and foremost a showcase of some of the best and newest contemporary Christian music from Catholic artists and if I don’t post a show they miss out on some key exposure to their target audience. Ouch. Second, the show serves a way for Christian music lovers to discover new music and artists to listen to for encouragement and inspiration. When there’s no show, there’s no discovery. Sigh.

Some of our listeners have asked if the show is now defunct or will any new shows be coming soon. It’s amazing to me anyone would enjoy the show so much they’d miss it when it wasn’t there and I’m genuinely touched by the concern shown by so many. So let me alleviate your anxiety – the show is not defunct – I love doing the shows and they will go on and new shows are coming this week. I’m striving to continue to do new shows for as many consecutive weeks as I can, but I won’t be perfect. Many of you don’t know this, but in addition to being a permanent Deacon serving my home parish in Ohio, I also work full-time as an Instructional Designer producing e-learning courses for a post-acute healthcare company, which happens to be over an hour away from my home. I’m also the General Manager of our local Catholic radio station, where I take care of all the operations, programming, spot production, support and annual pledge drive. Which leaves 1 evening a week to produce two 60 minute music programs and another evening to do all the social media and website postings, which happens to take a LOT of time (and is one reason why I’ve never been able to get a weekly e-mail update out to 1,500+ subscribers who want to know the latest happenings in the Catholic music scene).

So I hope you’ll forgive my decision to post the last 4 shows in one group instead of 4 individual posts. While I know it’s not ideal, at least the show widgets will be posted and I’ll highlight the big new releases. To start, playlist show #190 was released during Lent and has no music debuts, but it is one of the first times we play “Liberty to Captives” from Dee Simone and “Jesus, Meek and Humble” by Ben Walther & Sarah Hart.

Playlist show #191 is the first Easter playlist of 2018 and so we made sure it was filled with lots of songs with alleluias in them, including “Sing Alleluia” by Cooper Ray, “Sing Hallelujah” by Josh Blakesley, and “Hallelujah Sing” by Out of Darkness. Notable in this playlist is the debut of a single from Taylor Tripodi, “You Heard My Name”, and we include a sound clip of her telling us the inspiration of the song.

Playlist show #192 continues an Easter theme for the season with songs like “All Things New” from Pasquale Talarico, “Deliverer” by Audrey Assed, “Arise” by Dave Moore and a classic from PJ Anderson, “Set Me Free”.

Playlist show #193 offers the debut of 4 new singles led by the much anticipated release of Dana Catherine‘s new EP “Nothing in the World“. Hear the title track plus her popular single “My Savior in Me” which can be found on the EP too. Matt Faley released a new single titled “Jesus, I Trust” and Ricky Vazquez dropped a new full length album too. We chose “Brave the Storm” to play from his “Ghost of You” album. Finally, E.P.I.C. the Band released another EP, “Creation: Wave III”, and we selected “Divine” for the playlist.

This weekend features the feast of St Patrick on Saturday, March 17, 2018, so we thought some Irish music would be appropriate for the playlist this week. This is the only time you’ll hear this music! Scythian leads off the playlist with “Fields of St James”, followed by “Jigsaw” later on. Seasons gives us “King of the Faeries” and “Dalriada/Song of Saint Patrick”, Joe Zambon offers an “Irish Jig”, and of course playlist regular Ceili Rain is in the mix with “The King & I”.

In Catholic Playlist Show #188 we’re pleased to introduce you to Corrie Marie, our new featured artist. We found out about Corrie Marie recently as her PledgeMusic campaign was winding down for her debut album. After making a pledge towards the project we were able to sample one of her songs, “Humble Host”, and we knew we had to share this talented artist with you.

The bio from her website www.corriemariemusic.com says Corrie “is a native of Baltimore, Maryland, where she grew up singing whenever the mood struck and began writing her own songs at 12 years old. She actively started pursuing her music career at 23 when she set aside her day job to lead worship and a couple of years later she wears a few hats as a singer/songwriter, worship leader, and personal trainer. In all these things she finds that the Lord is always teaching her about her own humanity and how to see herself in other people. When writing, elements of the human experience are broken open and it’s in the music that she is able to learn more about God and more about herself.”

“Corrie has lead worship for her parish, Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Ellicott City, Md for the past 3 years and she travels to retreats and conferences to speak and lead worship and has sung for the National ChristLife Conference for the past two years. After winning the David Initiative, a contest by Catholic Creatives, Corrie was the opening act for AbbeyFest in 2017.”
